Gulp are Guto Pryce , Lindsey Leven and a Roland MC-505 box donated to them by a kind yogi. They are joined by Gid Goundrey on guitar to enrich a sound which has been described as cinematic, dazzling and hypnotic.
Guto is bass player in Super Furry Animals and more recently toured with Sonic Boom’s Spectrum and psych-folk legend Mark Fry. Lindsey came from Scotland to Wales to study art and creates images, music and songs. She has previously played solo song and guitar based shows. The Roland MC-505 makes beats and bleeps. Not much is known about its past.
Gulp’s musical journey stemmed from Guto and Lindsey’s travels through the Scottish Highlands, Wild West Wales and the Californian Desert. They found themselves inspired by landscapes and camaraderie, acoustic and electronic grooves, filmic sounds and sweet melodies.
June 2012 saw the release of their debut single, Game Love, which featured Guto’s SFA bandmates Dafydd Ieuan on drums and Cian Ciaran on the mix plus special guest Gareth Bonello (The Gentle Good) providing acoustic guitar and cello.
“a thing of eyeball popping beauty that deserves to have psychotropic palm leaves wafted at its feet (and then, ideally, eaten)” Artrocker 5 stars *****
“It’s an amalgam of 21st-century electronic squiggles and vintage airy psych-folk, as contemporary as video games and as old as the hills” Spin.com
“(Game Love’s) spooked demeanour suggests The Wicker Man getting fresh with Nancy Sinatra. That’s Gulp: easy to swallow, hard to forget” Guardian Guide Pick of the Week

ZERVAS & PEPPER
Debut L.P. ‘Somewhere In The City’ out now on Zerodeo Recordings.
‘One Man Show’ video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=f4hgWjLsicA
Formed late 2007 ‘Zervas & Pepper’ were born from Cardiff-based singer/songwriters Paul Zervas and Kathryn Pepper’s shared love of harmony-heavy folk rock music of the 1970′s West-coast/ Laurel Canyon scene.
After 2 successful introductory EPs released on their own independent Zerodeo Recordings label Zervas & Pepper released their long awaited debut album ‘Somewhere in the City’ in spring 2011. The debut album gained critical acclaim and strong radio support from the UK’s national stations. However that was only a foretaste of what was to come in 2012.
The first couple of singles from their imminent 2nd album have earned support and effusive praise from the likes of Radcliffe and Maconie on 6Music. At the start of September 2012, the band performed live in session for Sir Terry Wogan on BBC Radio 2.
The band list some of their influences as CSN&Y, Joni Mitchell, Fleet Foxes, John Martyn, Fairport Convention, James Taylor, The Beach Boys, Paul Simon, Fleetwood Mac, Midlake, Judee Sill, Matthews Southern Comfort.
