’MITCHELL MUSEUM’ – indie rock. Experimental pop from Glasgow, Scotland.
Childhood sweethearts and members of the young inventors club, the lasting union between brothers Cammy and Raindeer and friends Kris and Dougie led to the formation of MITCHELL MUSEUM in 2008, where they have been swapping home recordings and often regular instruments for banjos, accordions, children’s toys and various buzzing, beeping and burping music makers.
Drawing influence from American and Canadian experimental indie bands including Animal Collective, Flaming Lips, Wolf Parade and Modest Mouse, MITCHELL MUSEUM create an experimental pop sound with strong hints to folk, psych, and electronica.
A reputation for hyperactive and entertaining live shows have led MITCHELL MUSEUM to be described as “a frenzied Grandaddy” and “a lovable bundle of keyboard-driven madness” by The Fly, and 2009 has seen them play the Rockness festival, support Sunset Rubdown and Midlake, and visit many UK towns, cities and motorway service stations for the first time.
Since releasing their first two singles “Warning Bells” and “Tiger Heartbeat” on Vinyl and C10 cassette via the musical arm of essential boutique clothing label Electra French, the band have earned national airplay from the likes of Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and Marc Riley, who had the band in session in January. Reviews for the singles led the Rough Trade shop online to state “This is the magic new sound of young Scotland and soon every major independent label will be fighting for their signature. It has energy, intrigue and shouts ‘massive potential’.”

A true traevlling troubadour, Andy Hickie is a roaming singer songwriter from the mountains of North Wales.
After ‘working his soul dry’ to buy a camper van, Andy’s master plan is well into effect – to keep on moving, searching for enlightenment and inspiration along the way…he now finds himself at the Warehouse hoping you’ll all come along and play with him (in strictly a musical sense of course).

Erik Mongrain was born in Montreal on April 12, 1980. When he was young, he was more into sports than music.
Growing up to the sounds of Metallica, Jimi Hendrix and mostly Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, Erik discovered an interest in guitar. At 14, he received a classical guitar as a gift and learnt by ear his favourite songs. A year later, he bought his very first electric guitar which allowed him to learn and play Nirvana songs to his delight.
Over the following four years, he learned guitar on his own, composed his own music and discovered Jean-Sebastian Bach’s classical guitar melodies, which he learned by heart. Around the age of 18, he discovered a Canadian guitar giant who goes by the name of Don Ross. It was during this period in his life that Erik chose acoustic guitar as his favourite musical instrument through which he wished to share his passion with others around him.

“Grasping the softer elements of Mercury Rev and Danish delights Mew, they add Thom Yorke’s fine ear for melody and squish it all together with the louder, more bombastic thud of Coldplay to deliver a convincing promise that will make listeners feel fortunate they’ve caught them this early.”
