The Rainbreakers [+]

Free Before 9pm, £4 Thereafter

15049551_1200658349999546_90609360_n

“The four-piece have a refreshing approach to blues rock in a style which you don’t hear too much of on the British blues circuit. Their sound channels the greats of the 60s and 70s, yet with a modern twist and a healthy dose of soul. The Rainbreakers may hail from Shrewsbury, UK, but their groove tells you Austin, Texas.”

-National Blues Review-

Since forming in 2012, Rainbreakers have developed their sound into a fusion of dynamic elements, bridging the gaps between Blues, Rock, Pop and Soul, exemplifying a diverse and ever-growing musical palette. The songs can shift between gritty to delicate in an instant while the melodic and pop-like hooks combined with the raw and garage-esque backdrop forge an inspiring combination. Ultimately the band’s outlook is to produce authenticity, may that be lyrically or sonically, to create a sound that truly represents themselves as well as their experiences.

The band’s spirit draws significant influence from older artists such as Free and Humble Pie, yet expresses a strong connection with contemporary bands like The London Souls, The Black Keys, Monophonics and Gary Clark Jr. Although Rainbreakers evidently show a great fascination with sounds from the past, they are by no means purists.  While recalling elements of their predecessors, the band has a clear foothold within the sounds of their own generation and strives to craft a melting pot of musicianship, ranging from soul melodies and psychedelic sounds to garage-rock riffs and R&B grooves.

The outstanding power rock trio Miracle Glass Company feat. William Douglas (WD and the Wheel), Austen George (The Setup, The Alvas) and Andy Duncan (Miyagi, The Black Diamond Express), are a heavy psychedelic groove machine.

The formation is one we’re all familiar with – drums at the back, bass and guitar up front – but it is Miracle Glass Company’s tight vocal harmonies and ingenious song structures that make them an electric outfit worth putting everything else on hold for.

From supernaturally beautiful songs to seismic mind bending jams, Miracle Glass Company represent all that’s best about cosmic rock n’ roll.

THE LOOSE KITES [+]

Free Before 9pm, £4 Thereafter

Theloosekites

Imagine if you will a band. Not just any ordinary band, but a band cut from a different cloth.

siA band with soul, whose sole mission is to infect the planet with love, with passion and with music to make you smile and make you think. Imagine, if you can, the loose kites.

With a unique and dynamic eight-piece line up, including members with diverse backgrounds, the kites represent something different. With a sound which includes elements of folk, pop, rock and more, the band relies not only on the staples of voice, guitar, bass and drums, but also brass, strings and keys. Those additional elements make the distinctive kites sound a fuller one. That sound still accentuates the positive, with the focus very much on the groove, and the catchiness of the tunes. Harmonies abound, and melody is king.

The band has developed and adapted new elements into its core since being formed five years ago. After the release of their self-titled debut back in 2009, the band quickly picked up gigs, radio and an endorsement with the highly acclaimed Farida guitar company, alongside Oasis, Maximo Park, The Levellers and The Wombats. The company has hailed them as one of the most exciting folk acts this country has produced in recent years.

Now the kites are moving forward with their brand new album, Of Bricks And Brambles. A marked progression from their debut, the album shows that the band are not afraid of expressing themselves in a variety of musical settings. Taking inspiration from local life in the Chester area in which they grew up, the album takes queues from far and wide, and transfers them into the bands very special sound. The album is accompanied by a range of exciting and witty videos which will be used to promote forthcoming singles.

With an enviable live record, including headlining national festivals, the bands shows have become legendary in their home area. Most recently rocking Telfords Warehouse in Chester, the band are set for select UK and international dates in 2014.
The loose kites mix a strong sense of local tradition with an international outlook. Their music is good-time-low-down-good-fun, delivered within a timeless setting, of emotion and soulfulness.

Kidsmoke came to prominence in April 2013 with the release of their debut EP ‘Higher’. The EP was well received and their first single reached number 7 in the Amazing Radio top 40, as well as numerous plays on Adam Walton’s BBC Radio Wales show. A second self-released single, titled ‘Heartache‘ is due for release on 08/04/16.
