Seazoo (Album Launch) [+]

SEAZOO are an act that started out as nothing more than a bedroom-recording project.

Surprising momentum built however, as their Grandaddy/Yo La Tengo/SFA inspired recordings began to gain support from the BBC. Huw Stephens, Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Mark Radcliffe have all played previous tunes from the Ken, Car Deborah and JUMBO EPs. Rather excellently, Marc Riley invited them to perform a few live session for his 6 Music show, most recently August 2017. They accepted, ferociously.

The band release their first 7″ on the beautiful Too Pure label.

SEAZOO have brightened up Green Man, Festival No. 6, Lost Map’s Howlin’ Fling on Eigg, Swn, Truck, Canadian Music Week, The Great Escape and even the legendary basketball court that is Maida Vale Studio 3.

The band will release their debut album November, 2017!

First single Roy’s World released 12/05/17. Featured on BBC Radio 1, 6Music and BBC Radio Wales. Here’s what some good eggs had to say about it:

‘Music doesn’t have to take itself too seriously to be valuable; in fact it’s Seazoo’s enthusiastic attitude that really elevates “Roy’s World” into more than a piece of throw-away indie pop.’ THE LINE OF BEST FIT

‘In ‘Roy’s World’, Seazoo’s 90s influences are clear – yet while there’s a tinge of the grungy/psych elements of their influences (Grandaddy, Yo La Tengo, Super Furry Animals), the track’s energy and more-ish hooks see Seazoo venture over to Britpop. And I’m excited for more of it.’ – GIGSLUTZ

‘You want to meet the next great pop group? Then just listen to Seazoo, and do it today.’ – AUSTIN TOWN HALL

‘Just when it felt like fuzzy, lo-fi indie pop had fallen out of favour forever, North Wales quintet Seazoo are poised to deliver an album that will make you fall in love with the genre all over again.’ DRUNKEN WEREWOLF

Second single Shoreline out 04/09/17:

‘it’s a fast-paced and ludicrously infectious’ CLASH

Recordings have been sent to Metalwork Hobby Magazine and Steam Railway Magazine. The band await replies. .
