Made in Lancashire and raised in the Welsh seaside resort of Llandudno. Former Catfish & The Bottlemen guitarist Billy Bibby was one of the founding members of the band and cut his gigging teeth for 7 years up and down the UK, Europe and over in the States as the bands lead guitarist and backing vocalist. One of his greatest achievements to date is the gold disk that he earned for his part in the bands first album ‘The Balcony’. Something that Billy is very proud to have been part of.
Now taking on his own solo project and looking to forage his own way in the industry. Billy Bibby’s voice has all the traditions of a Lancashire hotpot churned together with the excitement of a trip to the beach. Possessing powerful melodic pipes and a set of songs to match. Bibby prides himself on making those records that everyday people will understand and resonate with. Influences from such greats as Elvis Presley, Noel Gallagher and Mark Knopfler most prominent but not defining on his singing and song writing style.
Having just recently sorted out his backing band. This will be one of Billy’s first shows with them accompanying him and fulfilling his songs full potential. Promotional songs such as ‘Waiting for you’ and ‘Believe me’ have already had radio play from Adam Walton on BBC Radio Wales and John Rose on UICRADIO in the States. He’s also been on Nicola Gilroy’s BBC Radio Lincolnshire show playing two live acoustic songs. (Don’t Fall and Waiting for you).
The catalogue of his material is ever growing and in due time there will be an EP and a single on the way. Just keep your eyes peeled for this young talent who given a chance will take a gig wherever possible and relish playing in front of a live audience.
“2015 will go on record as the year Billy Bibby, former lead guitar of Catfish and the Bottlemen, began crafting his own solo material. It is often said that things happen for a reason. Here the reason is pure and simple: incredible talent that begs to be heard. It won’t be long before audiences are singing and dancing along to these songs”

“If you go to Billy’s Soundcloud…I’m sure you’ll be able to listen to Billy to your heart’s content – which could be a very lot, judging on that!”
(Adam Walton – BBC Radio Wales)
