Meilir is one of contemporary music’s most provocative and audacious artists, melding expert songcraft with a fearless lyrical approach and wildly eclectic sonic sensibility. Born and raised in Flintshire, North Wales, he first made waves in his youth as a classically trained pianist and vocalist. Despite his early success, Meilir grew frustrated with the classical world’s artistic limitations, yearning instead to create something altogether his own. He co-founded cult Cardiff combo Manchuko, making their live debut with a nationally broadcast appearance on the Welsh-language free-to-air television channel, S4C.
As resourceful on stage as he is in the studio, Meilir has been hailed for his intimate and imaginative live performances. Meilir will be returning to live performance in 2022 with a tour in the works for then. Aside from headline shows, Meilir has opened for The Joy Formidable on their sold out European tour and supported such like-minded artists as Cate Le Bon, Tiny Ruins, Faust, and the legendary Michael Rother (NEU), as well as festival performances spanning Green Man, FOCUS Wales, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Llangollen Fringe Festival.
Cosmic Dog Fog were sent to planet Earth in its time of crisis, on a mission to assist the awakening of a global community consciousness. They arrived during the first of the great lockdowns in March 2020 and found sanctuary in a strange industrial North Wales town known as Sunny Wrexham.
During lock down CDF built up a large online following due to their ongoing theatrical psychedelic, lo-fi casio, space pop live streams. CDF performed on a number of online events hosted by the likes of Llangollen Fringe Festival and Ty Pawb, Wrexham exposing their abstract musical experimentation and songs to a wide audience.
